Renters Guide

 

*For questions and information, please speak directly to the interval owner. Emergency contacts are in the Group of Seven Cottage Owners Manual in the cottage. Note that the Property Manager is only to be contacted as a last resort.


As this represents an overview, please obtain Rules & specifics directly from the interval owner.

CHECK OUT PROCEDURES FOR RENTERS

Cottages 2, 4, 6 : Check out time: 1:45pm/ Check in time 6:30pm
Cottages 1, 3, 5, 7 : Check out time: 10am/Check in time: 2:45pm

Note: There is no daily housekeeping service. Cleaning will be provided at the end of your stay but it is appreciated if you leave your cottage as clean as possible when you depart. Please follow the checkout procedure found in the cottage; an overview is below.


Overview of Checkout Procedure

 

  • Towels: Wash, dry and return to linen closet

  • Bed Linens: Remove sheets/pillow cases & place in laundry room bins

  • Dishes: Use dishwasher; Return all dishes etc to the cupboards.

  • BBQ: Clean BBQ, if used. Turn off the propane after each use by shutting off the lever near the floor, moving it to a horizontal position.

  • Recycling & Garbage: The correct procedures to be followed are set out in the Cottage binder, on the fridge, and also at the garbage bin at the main road entrance

  • Sofa Beds: Remove sheets and return as a sofa

  • Personal Items: No personal items are to be left in the cottage

  • Damage: We understand that accidents happen. Please advise owner immediately if any item is damaged or broken, and copy Property Manager.

  • Before departing: Lock windows/doors, shut off lights & fireplace, turn thermostat to 15 c/65 f when checking out.


Hydro Outages & related safety checks

 

Note that should there be a power outage there is also no water. You will have enough water in each toilet for one flush. If you leave the cottage before the power comes back on, please ensure that all of the light switches are turned off, and all water taps are off. There should be no items on the stove. The fireplace will still work, as will the BBQ. In rare cases, should the power outage be longer than 24 hours, it may be necessary for the cottage to be vacated.

 

Note: It is suggested to plan in advance by bringing along a battery operated radio, flashlight, battery operated candles. The Hydro One app is also helpful.

Additional Notes

 

  • No smoking is permitted in the cottage

  • Internet: There is no direct internet available

  • Fireplace: To light the fire, flick the switch on the side of the fireplace. Please note that the glass gets very hot, even when the fireplace is not in operation. Do not touch or tamper with the glass or adjustments.

  • Bathrooms/Toilets: The cottage is on a septic system, and bathroom is stocked with toilet paper. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products are to be flushed at any time. Personal items such as soap and shampoo are not provided. We encourage the use of phosphate-free, environmentally friendly products

  • Towels: Towels are provided but are not to be taken outside of the cottage. We suggest you bring your own beach towels.

  • Instruction Manuals: are provided in the cottages, stored above the fridge. Only use the

  • appliances for their intended uses.

  • Water Sports: For the combination to unlock the shed consisting of life jackets and paddles, see the binder or ask the owner. Remember to take along a the mandatory life jacket and water safety kit. Canoes, kayaks and paddle boards and paddle boat are not available from late October to May long weekend.

  • Cottage Chairs/Paths: Each cottage has 2 assigned red chairs. If the chair is moved, please put it back. Chairs on the main deck are not to be moved. Please also do not walk in areas close to the other cottages. There are no official pathways between cottages.

  • Fire Pit: There is a designated campfire pit supplied with wood. Never leave a campfire

  • unattended & fully extinguish the fire before leaving. A water bucket is at the fire pit..

  • Skis and Bikes: To protect the interior of the cottage, please leave skiis and bikes outside

  • Winter Sports: Before venturing onto the lake, ALWAYS be aware of ice conditions

  • Noise: Loud/disturbing activities are not permitted eg loud speakers, noise after 11 pm

  • Pets and other Animals: No dangerous animals are allowed; wild animals are not to be

  • fed at any time. Pets are permitted provided the Pet Addendum is adhered to.

  • Motorized Watercraft: No personal watercrafts such as sea-doo or jet ski are allowed.

  • Snowmobiles: Snowmobiling shall not be allowed on the property but ingress and egress to off-site areas shall be permitted if conducted without delay and in an orderly manner


The Cottage Owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises or facilities. The Cottage Owners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that renters and their guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.


Failure to abide by these rules may result in suspension of rights & privileges or expulsion from the property. Fines will be levied for failure to adhere to the Departure Checklist, failure to depart on time, damaged and/or missing items, and to have items returned if left behind.

PET ADENDUM

  • All pets must be leashed on the property at all times.

  • The Guest is responsible for cleaning up any/all pet refuse. 

  • Pets are not allowed on furniture at any time. Any evidence of pets on furniture will attract extra cleaning fees.

  • It is recommended that all pets be treated with a topical flea and tick repellent prior to arrival.  Fleas and ticks are known in the area and can cause harmful/fatal illness to humans and pets.

  • Pets must not cause damage to premises or furnishings.

  • Guests should prevent pets from producing excessive noise at a level that disturbs

  • neighbours.

  • Pets are not be left unattended for an undue length of time, either indoors or out. Pets are not to be left unattended on porches etc.

  • The Cottage Owner Association assumes no responsibility for illness or injury that may incur to pets or humans while on the premises.

  • Guests shall be solely responsible for their pets while on the property.
