SEEKING LETTERS OF INTEREST

Group of Seven Cottages is a group of 7 all season cottages with fractional ownership (10 owners per cottage) situated on 1,100 ft of shoreline on Baptiste Lake, 25 KM west of Bancroft.


The Group of Seven Cottage Owners Association is governed by a board of directors. The current property manager is retiring; the board is inviting LETTERS OF INTEREST for this position. This is a contract position that is part time, reporting to the board of directors.

Qualifications / Skills

 

  • Ability to manage staff, including part time cleaners and a maintenance person

  • Proficiency in accounting and budgeting.

  • A people person with good communication skills

  • A strong understanding of trade resources in the area to facilitate maintenance of

  • the property and to obtain estimates/quotes for major works

  • Knowledge of cottage systems, including electrical, water, heating and septic

  • A firm understanding of Health and Safety as well as Fire Safety measures


Experience / Requirements

 

  • Experience with similar roles / duties

  • General Accounting knowledge

  • Computer skills including QuickBooks, Office 365, batch emailing

  • Has or is able to obtain liability insurance prior to start.

  • Valid Ontario Drivers License

Duties / Responsibilities

 

  • Provide services for the administration, operations, supervision and management

  • of the cottages and the property, including accounting, payments, supervision of

  • staff

  • Attend all Board, AGM, and Special Meetings as directed by the board

  • Monitor and arrange for regular maintenance and necessary repairs

  • Purchase necessary services, materials, and supplies

  • Use accounting system for contact information of vendors, suppliers etc.,

  • bookkeeping and management of funds; pay bills and expenses, maintain

  • records

  • Regularly inspect the property and report actions required to the Board

  • Correspond and communicate with owners’ inquiries

  • Work closely with treasurer, review and provide quarterly financial statements

  • Collect, record and deposit annual fees and other receipts

  • Prepare annual budget for Board approval

  • Work closely with treasurer and auditor at the annual financial audit

  • Other functions as required

About the Position

  • The PM works under a services contract with a per annum fee paid monthly.

  • This is not an employee position

  • Hours vary as determined by requirements; regular on-site presence is required.

  • Ability to be on-site on a regular basis.

  • Ideally lives with 100KM of the Group of Seven Cottage site.

  • Expected Start Date January 1, 2026
